Great place to relax. A view of Engineer Mountain and the San Juan's out of the living room window. Wood stocked near the fireplace. Wine waiting on the table. Jetted tub. Reception is sketchy on TV channels but plenty of DVD movies to pick from. A little dusty but recently remodeled. Covered parking. We would definitely stay here again.

Owner Response: Thanks Alan for the great review. We're glad that you had a great time. We will check with the housekeeper concerning any dust issues. We appreciate having great guests like yourself and hope that you can come back sometime. Annelle & Gary

    • Wonderfully Relaxing Family Christmas Vacation

Reviewed by Anonymous on March 10, 2016 for their trip during December 2015

My wife and I along with our one-and-a-half year old daughter stayed at this condo for a brief vacation just before Christmas, and it was exactly what we needed! The positives of our stay were numerous: Gary and Annelle were very helpful in explaining what was available in the condo and the nearby area; the endless supply of firewood; the cozy condo size was perfect for our little family (with room for more!), with plenty of things for our daughter to explore and play with (games, puzzles, toys, etc); beautiful views from the bedroom and balcony; the numerous details taken care of with the condo (the selection of movies, basic kitchen utensils, a kid sled, etc) made for great memories...we loved the time we spent at the condo. There are a couple of things to be aware of when staying here in the winter--these are simply part of the facts of staying here in December and in no way detract from our amazing stay: 1) the incredible-close parking does have a bit of an incline to it, so folks without 4WD will need some extra traction if/when the pavement gets slick (we used AutoSock, which was perfect); 2) the pool and spa are in a separate building from the condo, and though it's a very short walk, it's helpful to know the buildings aren't the same; 3) unless you're planning to ski at the nearby resort, keep in mind that everything else (namely Durango and Silverton) is a bit of a drive--not necessarily a bad thing, but good to be aware of. I highly encourage young families to consider this condo in the winter months, especially if you aren't planning on hitting the slopes--though you certainly could! We look forward to returning to the property in the future!

Reviewed by Tom M. on December 23, 2015 for their trip during November 2015

We thoroughly enjoyed being in the Durango area and staying at Cascade Village. As with many of the other reviews, we found the condo nicely appointed, very comfortable and well maintained. We would definitely recommend this condo. Only reason we would not stay here again is we have small Yorkies who normally travel with us and while the condo owners didn't have an issue with pets, Cascade Village does not permit pets in the rental units.

The condo was perfect in many ways. Very well maintained and stocked with everything we needed. Bed was very comfortable. Location worked out great with Silverton to north and Durango to the south. The San Juan mountain range was fantastic. We were lucky enough to be there at max fall colors. I would not have any problem recommending to others.

We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it for Durango-bound travelers.

Reviewed by JOHN B. on September 09, 2015 for their trip during August 2015

My wife and I enjoyed our week's vacation here. The condo is very comfortable and cozy. It's located between Durango and Silverton. At night we could really see the stars, since there was no light pollution. This condo doesn't have A/C, but we stayed comfortable during the day with fans and at night we left the windows open to enjoy the cool air. Since we were there in the off season, the resort was quiet, which we liked. We enjoyed the outdoors of the surrounding areas. We really enjoyed the train ride from Durango to Silverton. Thanks for your hospitality.

Terrific location just over a mile from the ski resort (which we also really liked). Covered parking. Welcoming, cozy, quiet, and well-stocked condo. The hosts helped us plan by offering travel advice, local contacts, and even locating a Redbox for us. Our kids enjoyed the snow, movies, puzzles, and games. The hot tub was wonderful. Wifi in the condo was nice since cell coverage around the area is spotty. Great value. High recommendation.

Our stay at Cascade Village was great end-to-end. The location is great (about a mile from the ski mountain) but still somewhat isolated and quiet. We had easy access to both Durango downtown (check out Oscar's) and Silverton (check out Brown Bear Cafe). The condo was perfect: clean, neat, plenty of everything needed including endless firewood for fires. The hosts made us feel welcome and the whole stay was great! Thanks!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this condo. It was very well stocked with linens, appliances, and kitchen utensils. The shuttle to and from the slopes was great. The fireplace and the pool/hot tub were awesome after a day of skiing. The owners were also kind enough to leave us a couple of special gifts upon our arrival. We will definitely return and stay here again. If I had one thing to recommend, you may want to replace the Keurig coffeemaker. It seemed to have a mind of it's own at times. Other than that, our stay was perfect.
